Inspiring travel—in all its forms.
The world is a small place. (Not literally.) It’s easier than ever to travel new places, learn about different cultures, and expand our understanding of history and people. Wandering Cat is about the belief you can explore the world no matter where you are, what your background is, how much money you have, or your overall life situation.
Traveling to far-flung places is fun—it can totally shift your perspective and widen your worldview. But if and when you can’t physically travel, there are many ways to have a similar experience while staying close to home. Explore other places and cultures through other modes: by reading, cooking, learning, and living with curiosity.
When traveling to a new (or not new) place, don’t skip the regular “touristy” spots or your typical interests — but don’t be afraid to also try something you wouldn’t normally. Those places, foods, and activities can often broaden your mindset even more and give us a better understanding of the place and people where you’re visiting.
This blog is here to help you explore, both near or far from home. Make travel a lifestyle.
Explore the Big Island, Hawaii: Green Sand Beach & South Point
In Hawaii, history and environmentalism meets tourism in a way that can be hugely beneficial — but often becomes detrimental to the local ecosystem and people. At South Point and Papakolea, you have the opportunity to see ancestral grounds, learn about part of Hawaii’s history, and unwind in nature. But it’s important to be mindful of your impact when you go.
